Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold unevenly
steady. Trade was fairly active on moderate to good demand. Rainfall
predicted for the next couple of days should bring much relief to the
wheat pastures. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher.
Slaughter cows and bulls made up 2 percent, 1 percent replacements, and
97 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 62 percent steers and
bulls, 38 percent heifers. Near 92 percent of the run weighed over 600
lbs.
