Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to firm on limited comparable sales. Trade was light to moderate on moderate demand.
Rain paired with CME feeder cattle futures closing up the limit had cattlemen in good spirits. Slaughter cows and bulls traded 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 11 percent, 2 percent replacements and 87 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 35 percent steers and bulls, 65 percent heifers. Approximately 82 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs. ***No sale next Monday for July 4th holiday, auction will resume Monday, July 10th.***
