Built to Be Used, Not Figured Out
Today’s Rancher Desktop was designed around a simple idea: ranch software shouldn’t become another chore.
We deliberately kept the program straightforward. You won’t have to hunt through layers of hidden menus, tabs, and nested screens trying to remember where a feature lives. The Main Menu tells you where you are going.
The livestock screens show you the animals you are working with.
Different animals. One familiar way to work
When you select an animal, the tools associated with that animal are right there.
That simplicity is intentional.
We would rather have you spend your time entering useful information about your operation than learning how to navigate our software.
If you already know how to manage cattle, horses, goats, or sheep, you shouldn’t have to become a software expert just to keep track of them.
Because sometimes you’re working with the herd, not the individual animal..
This Is the Foundation
Today’s Rancher Desktop V1 is not intended to be the last word in ranch-management software.
It is the foundation.
We rebuilt Today’s Rancher around the things we believe matter most: dependable animal records, straightforward navigation, local ownership of your data, useful reporting, and the ability to manage different kinds of livestock within one system.
From that foundation, Today’s Rancher will continue to grow.
Some of that growth is already part of our plans. Some of it will come from something much more valuable: the people actually using the program.
No canned software will ever anticipate every way every ranch, farm, homestead, breeder, or livestock operation works. We don’t intend to pretend otherwise.
If you find yourself saying:
“I wish Today’s Rancher could…”
we want to hear the rest of that sentence, because while the barn is built, we’re still adding stalls.
That is why we’re building the Today’s Rancher Community alongside the software, a place to ask questions, suggest improvements, request features, and help shape what comes next.
Today’s Rancher has always grown by listening to the people doing the work. We intend to keep it that way.
