Before You Install<\/strong>
Today\u2019s Rancher Desktop V1 requires a 64-bit PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Download Today\u2019s Rancher<\/strong>
After purchasing, click the download link in your receipt or purchase confirmation. The installer is named TodaysRancherSetupV1.exe<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Run the Installer<\/strong>
Open your Downloads folder and double-click TodaysRancherSetupV1.exe<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Windows May Ask for Permission<\/strong>
Depending on Windows security settings, Windows may display a security or SmartScreen message before running a newly downloaded application. We should document the exact screens and buttons we actually encounter<\/strong>, rather than guessing at Microsoft’s wording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Follow the Setup Wizard<\/strong>
Accept the installation location\/defaults and allow setup to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Start Today\u2019s Rancher<\/strong>
Launch Today\u2019s Rancher Desktop. Kate appears briefly while the program starts, and then the Main Menu opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Set Up Your Ranch<\/strong>
On first use, enter your Ranch Information. Once that’s saved, you’re ready to begin entering livestock records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Make Your First Backup<\/strong>
After you’ve entered your initial ranch and livestock information, use System Utilities \u2192 Backup<\/strong> and save the backup somewhere safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
